Clusters of Altai Krai participated in the implementation of inter-regional biotechnology project

April 29 a meeting for inter-regional cooperation in the implementation of the program "Siberian biotech initiative" was on the basis of the Center of cluster development of Novosibirsk Oblast. The concept of the project, the mechanism of its implementation and the information about the executed work were presented to participants. Deputy Head of the Main Department of Economy and Investment of Altai Krai, Head of Science, Innovation and Cluster Policy Alexander Zhidkih also visited the event.

The initiators of the program are the biotechnology clusters of Altai Krai, Novosibirsk and Tomsk Oblasts. These structures include more than 200 organizations: research institutes, universities, industrial enterprises, engineering centers, technology parks. Some of them are active participants of technology platforms "Biotech-2030", "Pharma 2020" and "Medicine of the Future."

The project is focused on the modernization and development of the biotechnology industry of Russia accorfing to the potential of the Siberian scientific and technological, industrial and educational complexes in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food processing, silviculture and ecology. As a result of its implementation it is planned to establish full structure of bioeconomy, which includes research, engineering and testing centers for developing the use of biotechnology products, the industrial sector, and modern educational programs at universities.

The project is coordinated by representatives of Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, Administrations of regions and the centers of cluster development.
