Altai scientists have found a way to improve the quality of animal feed
Siberian Research Institute of Cheesemaking (Altai Krai, Barnaul) developed and organized the production of new bacterial preparation - bacterial starter for ensilage of feed.
The product represents the dried concentrate of lactobacillales, which can actively develop in the ensilage. It consists of phage-resistant strains of lactobacillus, specially sel ected by the complex of technological properties.
As reported the scientists of Research Institute of Cheesemaking, the using of the product would reduce the duration of the early stage of ensilage. The using of starter improves the nutritional value of the feed by 10-18%, which corresponds to the increase in the finished silo yield fr om each ton of green mass of 100-180 kg. Starter also improves the safety of feed, makes possible to realize the procurement of fodder even under poor weather conditions, to ensure high digestibility of feed, to increase milk production and weight of beef store cattle, to improve the taste and quality of milk, to increase the fat and protein content in milk.
