Altai Krai keeps the highest rate of growth of agricultural production in Siberia
Altai Krai - the undisputed leader in agricultural production in the Siberian Federal District - continues to increase agricultural production. According to the results of 2015 the output of products in the agribusiness in the region increased by 7.5% compared to 2014. This is the largest increase among the regions of the Siberian Federal District.
“Of course, the tendencies of the production growth are provided through the use of new technologies, the use of breeding potential, modernization and system state support,” commented the Deputy Governor of Altai Krai Alexander Lukyanov. “In addition to the previous measures of support livestock it is planned to bring other measures. New trends are developed, as well as the issues of increasing funding of this strategically important direction are addressed.”
According to Alexander Lukyanov, last year in dairy farming there was increase in production by 51 thousand tons of milk (compared to 2014), the Krai achieved record productivity - 4 thousand 242 kilograms of milk per cow per year. In the meat production cattle rearing, pig farming, poultry, sheep farming consistently demonstrate positive dynamics.
This year, according to the Main Department of Agriculture of Altai Krai, the tendencies of increase in the output of agricultural products are kept: four months a significant increase in the production of milk, cattle and poultry has fixed in the region. Also, poultry farms of the region show the high dynamics.
In January-April 2016 the production of oilseeds has increased by 1.8 times, including sunflower - 1.6 times, grain crops and legumes - by 20.4%, eggs - by 7%, vegetables - by 5%, milk and dairy products by 2.3%.
The gradual modernization of the industry contributes to the achievement of these results. Thus, only in 2015, 120 livestock facilities were built, reconstructed and modernized in Altai Krai, which had a capacity for more than 7,600 farm animals.
