The Altai region intends to cooperate with Vietnam and South Korea

The Altai territory intends to establish cooperation with Vietnam and South Korea in the field of biotechnology, tourism and agriculture.

"The Delegation of the Altai territory will go to one of the provinces of South Korea - Gangwon in late March. Works in this direction were ongoing more than a year; it has already identified the main areas of cooperation - biopharmaceutical cluster. There is the largest enterprise in the industry in South Korea. And there is also the largest company - consumer of punt products, including Altai products", said the head of the Altai territory Department of international and inter-regional affairs Alexander Zhilin.

This cooperation is planned to start in this year. At the moment, there is a study of visiting Vietnam, which is interesting for the region in terms of exports of grain, flour and punt products. The region expects to start supplying textile products, sports shoes with one of the largest enterprises in Vietnam.

Regional authorities hope to build trade relations and joint work in the tourism sector. According to Alexander Zhilin, the region is interested in Koreans as participants of infrastructure of tourism, hotel business.

The main foreign partners of the Altai territory are currently Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, and Germany, Italy, Finland, France, Japan. New partners will expand the region's economic potential.
