Korean business was interested in the 22nd region

Yesterday the presentation of the investment potential of Altai Krai was presented in the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Russian Federation to leading South Korean companies in the field of agriculture, food processing, biopharmaceutics, tourism, health care, mechanical engineering, chemical industry, production of medical equipment.


On the part of Altai Krai the extended delegation of the region participated in the event including representatives of official and business circles headed by the Governor Alexander Karlin.


Alexander Karlin introduced the economic potential of the region and the main branches of industry and agriculture to Korean party.


Concerning the agriculture the Governor of the region said that " the Krai is in the top five regions of the country in the cereal production and high-quality wheat, and also the Altai cereal field is the largest in Russia.


As part of the development of agribusiness we set rather ambitious tasks. By 2025 we plan to increase production of cereals, meat and milk by 25% -40% from the current level. Therefore, we are interested in cooperation with major international research centers, industrial companies to modernize facilities, the use of best agronomic and veterinary standards, new technologies of storage and processing of raw materials."


In his speech, Alexander Karlin focused on priority areas for investment in the food and processing industry such as the production of confectionery products, canned vegetables and fruit syrups, baby and functional food, a variety of veterinary medical products and vitamins, modern animal feed, deep processing of agricultural raw materials and organizing a wide range of food ingredients, flavors, stabilizers, flavorings.


"We should talk about deer velvet antler farming, which today has become one of the most promising directions of development of animal husbandry. Products are exported to the regions of Russia and abroad. Interest in velvet antler the product is growing. In the region there are processing plants that will expand the range and satiate markets with high-value products of deer velvet antler farming", said the Governor of the region.


The rich resource, research and development, production base provides developing actively in the region biopharmaceutical direction. The country's first Altai biopharmaceutical cluster was created and successfully operates consisting of 40 organizations.


The event was attended by leaders of the Altai companies such as Altaytara, LLC "Siberian production and trading company (SPTK)", ZAO "Evalar", ZAO "Belokurikha Resort" and Altai biopharmaceutical cluster.


At the end of the presentation it was able to exchange business contacts, to set the directions of further cooperation in the field of biopharmaceuticals, food and agricultural processing, construction of hotels, health care facilities and energy infrastructure, industrial-park facilities.


From the Korean party representatives of companies such as Lotte Group, Samsung, Hyundai, POSCO, Daewoo, GS and others were taken part in the presentation.


Altai party was welcomed by the Deputy Chief of Mission, Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Russia Park Byung-hwan. During the presentation Minister said that Altai Krai offers great opportunities to investors in realization of promising projects.
