Altai Krai developed investment proposals of sheep wool processing

For the purposes of promotion of the industry development of sheep breeding and sheepskin and wool processing in Altai Krai the Altai Center of Investment and Development prepared investment proposals for organizing the department of primary sheep wool processing, and also the production of felt and wool fabrics. Altai Krai has the necessary resources not only for the save the sheep industry, but also its development. There are good natural and climatic conditions, hayfields and pastures availability occupying about 4 million hectares, ample human resources, which allow raising sheep of different breeds.

Today, modern breeding base fine-wool sheep of the region is represented by three breeding plants: JSC “Stepnoe” of the Rodinskiy District, JSC “Ovtsevod” of the​​ Rubtsovskiy District, Aricultural Production Cooperative kolkhoz “Siberia” of the Tretyakovskiy District. Plants annually take part in the Siberian and Far East exhibition of breeding sheep and win prizes, and also animals receive high ratings of the expert committee. In these farms there is the best gene pool of fine-wool sheep in the region.

Altai Krai gave a state support on the development of sheep breeding industry and processing of fells and wool in the form of subsidies for reimbursement of costs associated with the purchase of equipment in the amount of not more than 7.5 million rubles on one subject with an average number of employees from 10 to 29 people. Another form of support for the industry is interest rate subsidization on loans in the amount of not more than 5 million rubles on one subject at the rate of three-fourths of the key rate of the Bank of Russia and not more than 70% of the actual incurred charges for the payment of interest on loans.
