Altai Krai exports buckwheat for the production of traditional noodles to Japan
The largest grain processing enterprise of Altai Krai - the company “Rosa” - sent the first batch of buckwheat to Japan in November. Buckwheat from the fields of Altai Krai will be grinded into flour, from which the famous buckwheat noodles “Soba”, popular in Japan, will be made.
The Regional Department of food, processing, pharmaceutical industry and biotechnologies noted: before deliveries have been developed in Japan, the CEO of the company visited Altai Krai, he inspected buckwheat fields and estimated production lines of the company. Representatives of foreign companies were satisfied with the results of researches of buckwheat samples, conditions of growing and processing.
In the near future specialists of Japanese company will study samples of green buckwheat, which is also grown in our region.
According to the Regional Department of food, processing, pharmaceutical industry and biotechnologies, the company from Tokyo previously purchased buckwheat in China, however, evaluated the quality of the Altai raw materials, the management decided to change supplier for the benefit of our region. The Department also reminded that in early September of this year, flour and grain company sent 25 types of grains, cereals and pasta to Georgia. In June, the group of companies “Rosa” started deliveries of grains and cereal flakes to Canada and Australia.
