Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin: Altai Krai gives guests a new experience each time

Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin has visited one of the main areas of the winter vacation season “Altayskaya Zimovka” - Svetloe Lake (it is often called Lebedinoye) in the Sovetskiy District of Altai Krai.

Svetloe Lake gives its guests the incredible experience. “Amazing feelings: do not expect to see so many swans in one place. We kept an eye on birds at the observation platform, and also discussed with colleagues, it would be interesting to trace the route of their movement. We already have a similar experience: we traced the movement of tigers in the Russian Far East. It would be a good to do the same, to know more about migration routes and even some swans’ schedule: how much time they spend in flight, where and when they stay to feed and roost. It does not just enrich us with new knowledge. Studying their routes, we can organize specially protected areas at their way.

It is good that such recreation was organized in Altai Krai. Every time I come in Altai Krai and see something new and interesting,” stated Igor Levitin.

Note: This year Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation is not the first time in Altai Krai, he and the Head of the Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Safonov participated in the start-up of two important for the development of tourism facilities - a complex on the “Sky‑blue Katun” and the road connecting Belokurikha with tourist cluster Belokurikha-2. This serpentine has already become the object of attention of tourists.

Reference: About 600 Whooper Swans winter at unfrozen lakes in the Sovetskiy District of Altai Krai in this year. Birds annually fly in the reserve “Lebediny”.
