Commercial Director of food factory: Advantage of Altai raw materials - high quality of natural products
Commercial Director of the Altai food factory “Melenka-OST” Alexander Lyubin gave comment on the results of the study about the implementation of import substitution strategy by the subjects of the Russian Federation in 2015.
“Our company has produced the frozen half-finished meat products and vegetables for years under all known trademarks. Now there is difficult situation on the market of frozen vegetables, berries and mushrooms due to the imposing of an embargo on imports. It is for this reason that management of food factory “Melenka-OST” has decided to develop its own production partially based on Russian raw materials. We need our own raw materials base. The implementation of such strategy can increase marketability of our products and their availability for the consumer. Of course, this is a lengthy process that will take many years before we can reach the necessary volumes.
In 2015, we implemented in cooperation with the Altai farmers the project of growing pumpkins, courgettes, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli and cauliflower. We also organized the collecting of wild berries and mushrooms. The advantage of the transition to Altai raw materials - high-quality natural products, which fully give the taste, color and aroma of the fresh products, as if they had just been collected from a bed.
We want our products to be the best in their price bracket,” emphasizes Alexander Lyubin.
It will be remembered that the Analytical Center “Club of Regions” conducted a study of the implementation of the import substitution strategy by subjects of the Russian Federation in 2015. Altai Krai is among the 11 leading regions in import substitution, along with Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar Krai, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Belgorod, Rostov, Irkutsk, Kaluga and Voronezh Oblasts.
Experts of “Club of Regions” noted the work of the Administration of Altai Krai. “The regional Administration is asking the Federal Ministry of Industry to assist in the promotion of Altai goods in federal networks. Own business contacts exchange “AltaiProdMarket” was organized, agricultural products is ready for distribution to the neighboring regions. The Head of Altai Krai Alexander Karlin even proposed the concept of “special agricultural regions” as the territories of concentration for additional resources in order to implement import substitution. Experts see the positive side of the project to promote the specialization of regions,” noted in the publication of “Club of Regions.”
