Altai Krai is a key brand of the country's tourism industry

Shortly before the exhibition “Intourmarket” in Moscow a press conference of the heads of the tourism industry and representatives of public tourist associations of the country took place on 15th March. The member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly from Altai Krai Mikhail Schetinin participated in the exhibition and answered questions of reporters.

According to Deputy Head of the Federal Tourism Agency Sergei Korneev today the task number one of the industry is inbound tourism in the Russian Federation, and the first region, which has long bet on tourism and succeeded in it, is Altai Krai. Moreover, our region has been called as a key brand on the map of the tourism industry of the country.

Senator Michael Schetinin, describing the tourist opportunities of the region, called the dynamic of tourism development - from 400 thousand tourists in 2006 to 1.9 million in 2015. “There is annually the growth in the accommodation of tourists. We have now more than 50 thousand people, though there were about 47 thousand people in 2014. Every year we build new sanatoriums, new tourist centers and so on. For example, I handed advertising booklet of new sanatorium complex in the foothills of the Altai in Rosturizm a few weeks ago. This hotel has a category of “five stars”, which meets the international standards. We can say that we have everything and for everyone - for every taste. Come to us and appreciate our abilities,” stressed the member of the Federation Council.
