Altai Krai is in the top ten leading regions in the number of implemented components of the Standard of Competition Development
At the beginning of 2016 the regions reported on the implementation of the Standards of Competition Development approved by the Government of the Russian Federation.
On the basis of provided information the Analytical Centre under the Government of the Russian Federation has prepared a rating of heads of regions in the level of promotion of competition by the end of 2015. Altai Krai, according to estimates of the Analytical Centre, ranks 33th among Russian regions and 5th - among the subjects of the Siberian Federal District. However, in “Implementation of Components of Standard of competition development” the Krai closes the top ten leading regions in Russia and ranks 2nd in in the SFD, concedes only to Omsk Oblast.
It should be recalled that a systematic work on the development of competition began in 2010 in Altai Krai. At this stage of the implementation of Standard a package of measures is implemented, which facilitates the realization of the potential of the regional economy and creation of conditions for healthy and fair competition. In the reporting period an authorized body for the development of competition was determined (Main Department of Economy and Investment of Altai Krai), condition and development of a competitive environment in markets of goods and services were monitored, a list of priority and socially important markets were approved, as well as the “road map” to promote competition development.
As part of the agreement between the Administration of Altai Krai and the Administrations of regions and cities about cooperation in the planning of socio-economic development for 2016 the obligations of local governments were determined in part to promote competition in the territories of municipalities.
