Altai Krai and Israel plan to develop cooperation in medicine, education and agriculture
A working meeting of the Governor of Altai Krai Alexander Karlin with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Russia Zvi Heifetz was held. The meeting was also attended by First Secretary of the Embassy of Israel to Russia, Director of the Israeli Cultural Center in Novosibirsk Iris Zweig, wife of Ambassador Sigalia Heifetz, the Head of the Krai Department for Tourism, Recreation, Interregional and International Relations Yuriy Zakharov and the Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Barnaul Mikhail Korolev.
According to Alexander Karlin, 2016 gave a start to build up relationships of Altai Krai and the State of Israel. “For the first time in the last 10 years, our delegation visited Israel. We consider: your visit to Altai Krai brings hope to activation of our relations. Today, we can identify three main areas of cooperation: health care, agriculture and the humanitarian sphere.
You will visit the area of Nagorny medical cluster. The noticeable qualitative changes have taken place in 10 years there. And it is important that among new health facilities and their equipment our personnel also can improve qualitatively. During the visit of our delegation, this issue was discussed, and today, it is already implemented in practice. We are ready to quickly respond to all your proposals. I think one of the regular forms of cooperation in medicine - internship of our specialists in your clinics. It is very important. Not only have advanced equipment, but also use it efficiently,” emphasized the Governor.
Zvi Heifetz thanked Alexander Karlin for warm hospitality and the opportunity to participate in the All-Russian Field Day. The Ambassador noted that his visit is aimed at to give an impulse to cooperation in agriculture, medicine and education. “The purpose of my visit - to develop concrete proposals and areas of cooperation. I offer to establish a joint working group, where experts will be able to study in detail all the possible areas of cooperation. I think it is important to work with the regions. We have the same priorities with Altai Krai in the sphere of cooperation - medicine and agriculture.
In the medical field, we are ready to demonstrate our abilities, to learn something from us. We also recently signed a preliminary agreement on cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation,” said the Ambassador.
According to the Ambassador, the relations between Russia and Israel are based on friendship and trust. “This year we celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations between our countries. In the embassy there will be a special office for cooperation with the Russian regions, Altai Krai will be one of the first,” he stressed.
