Altai Krai was recognized as a leader in the execution of the program “Development of Domestic and International Tourism” in Russia

Алтайский край признали лидером исполнения программы «Развитие внутреннего и въездного туризма» в России

A meeting of authorized representatives of the executive authorities of subjects of the Russian Federation in the sphere of tourism was held in Kaliningrad Oblast. The meeting summed up the first half of 2016 for the implementation of the federal target program “Development of Domestic and International Tourism in the Russian Federation (2011 - 2018).”

The absolute leader in the execution of the program was Altai Krai, where drawdown of funds for the tourism project “Barnaul - the mining city” was 100%, the tourist complex Belokurikha - 72.8%, according to Altayturtsentr.

Background information: “Belokurikha-2” participated in the federal program; it is built resort in the foothills of the Altai at a height of 860 meters above sea level. This is one of the largest public-private partnership projects in tourism in Russia. The resort has been invested 3.1 billion rubles, and according to experts, the total investment can be up to 30 billion rubles.

Also the project “Barnaul - the mining city” entered in the FTP; it is aimed at restoring the historic appearance of the central part of the administrative centre of Altai Krai. It includes the reconstruction of bridges over Barnaulka on prospects Lenina and Socialistichesky, construction waterfront of the Ob River and terracing Nagorny Park with water discharge.

Totally, in Russia more than 150 facilities providing infrastructure (roads, utilities) are being built in 31 tourism clusters of 26 regions. More than 57 facilities providing the infrastructure already put into operation. Within the framework of the federal target program the regions establish a high-quality infrastructure, which contributes not only to build tourist traffic, but also increases the level and quality of life.
