Altai Krai headed the top 20 regions of the country in the production of cheese and cheese products
Soyuzmoloko together with the analytical center MilkNews, according to Rosstat’ data, listed the 20 top regions with the largest volume of production of cheese and cheese products based on the results of 6 months of 2016. Altai Krai ranks 1st with an output of 42.1 thousand tons. The second place is Voronezh Oblast with 33, 3 thousand tons, According to the Department of Altai Krai for the Food, Processing, Pharmaceutical Industry and Biotechnologies.
Hard cheeses (25%) and cheese products (23%), semi-hard cheeses (21%), processed cheeses (16%) and other types of cheese occupy a small part in the structure of production of cheese and cheese products.
It should be noted that the Altai cheese repeatedly received high awards at prestigious competitions. For example, LLC “Tretyakovsky MSZ”, which is a part of group of companies “Kiprino”, has recently received the Grand Prix for the cheese “Altaysky” and the Diploma of the Winner of the contest for the block hard cheese “Swiss” in Sochi within the framework of the International Conference EEU in the Production and Processing of Milk.
