Science Festival is held in Barnaul
In the Altai, the VI All-Russian Science Festival in Altai Krai is in progress. The All-Russian Science Festival - one of the most large-scale social projects in the science popularization, which is held by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
Today, on October 14, primary focus is on the All-Russian Science and Engineering Competition “Scientists of the Future”, workshops of construction and technological faculty, architects and designers of AltSTU.
The All-Russian Science and Engineering Competition “Scientists of the Future” has become one of the most important events of the Festival. More than 60 students will arrive in Barnaul from Kaliningrad, Moscow, Kirov, Murmansk, Chelyabinsk, the Siberian Federal District, and the Republic of Bashkortostan. They will present their research programs and researches in physics, biophysics, mathematics, engineering and technology, chemistry and biotechnology, programming and computer science, biology. The session “Promising future scientists” will work for younger students.
On the Krai’s site of a concert hall “Siberia” the Altai Technical University will organize several areas: “The unusual properties of conventional materials”, “Membranes - materials for food or space”, the scientific performance “Healthy food for future astronauts? Easy enough!”.
The AltSTU’s festival sites will work from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
In addition, as part of the Altai Science Festival in the cinema “Premiere” (97 Krupskaya Str.), cinema-goers can learn about the history of cosmonautics, life features of astronauts in weightlessness, scientific experiments conducted in orbit, to take part in the film program “Space Lessons”.
On 15th October, scientific films about cosmonautics will be showing. The organizers have selected interesting films about space exploration, “Without Me” and “Star. Space Weekdays”. The first film tells the story of two women: cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova and her alternate Valentina Ponomareva. Film screenings will begin at 3 p.m.
It should be recall that this year Altai Krai is as a central regional area of the VI All-Russian Science Festival NAUKA 0+, organized in the region from 14th to 16th October under the motto “Altai – to the Space”. For three days more than 600 events will be organized at 37 areas. Participants will be able to visit the exhibition of innovative achievements of universities and other scientific organizations, to make sightseeing tours, including to closed laboratories, to participate in intellectual games and astronomical observations, to watch scientific movie, to ask questions to the leading Russian scientists, and there will be also mass educational show programs, robots festival, scientific battles and more.
Pupils and their parents, students, young specialists, teachers, as well as the scientific and expert community can visit the Science Festival, which is the main concept - the science for everybody - NAUKA 0+. All areas for participants will work for free.
