Harvest of sugar beet has achieved record results in Altai Krai
As of October 24, sugar beet was dug up from 21.5 thousand hectares in Altai Krai. This is 93% of the area of sowing culture this year. Harvest of beet-roots exceeded 1 million tons, which is a record in the history of sugar beet in the region, informed the official website of Altai Krai.
“Sugar beet is cultivated in six districts. The largest plantations are located in the Pavlovsky, Rebrikhinsky and Kalmansky Districts. Altai Krai - the only subject in Siberia, where sweet root is cultivated and processed,” reported in the Main Department of Agriculture of the region.
