The first engineering Centre of food and bionanotechnology will be opened in Altai region
ASTU signed an agreement with several institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences within biofarmklasters activity. According to Alexander Sitnikov, the rector of the University, Siberian engineering research Centre of food and bionanotechnology begin to work on the Altai State Technical University base in 2014 year. «The Centre is supported by the Governor of the region, preliminary negotiations were conducted, and funding in this direction fr om the regional and federal budgets is planned. I think, this engineering Centre will be created in the next year», – said Alexander Sitnikov.
Expected, that this Centre will integrate the developments and resources of several institutions to work together in field of applied biotechnology and to create new products, reports «Interfax». Such Centre will be founded at the University base, because ASTU – is a single institution, which has got the Faculty of food technology and over 30 innovative production companies on the base of which developments of scientists are realizing.
«The area of processing is very important for the Altai region. From the next year we will supplement the Centre content. The Centre will bring together structures, that are working in one direction. We will try to remove the competition between them, it must be in order. We try to create a new product at the directions lim it», – said Andrey Maksymenko, the prorektor for scientific and innovative work of University. According to him, the Administration of the region will present a project of the Centre creation to the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation. This project will pretend for federal funding within the competition. From the regional budget was directed 5 million rubles, from the federal budget is expected to receive 20 million rubles to the creation of the Centre.
Engineering Centre will be the first and so far the one in the country, working in this direction.
