Minister of Economic Development of the Altai Territory Mykola Chinyakov: Events in the region are traditionally among the best in the country

Министр экономического развития Алтайского края Николай Чиняков: Событийные мероприятия региона традиционно входят в число лучших в стране Deputy Prime Minister of the Altai Territory, Minister of Economic Development of the region Nikolai Chinyakov said this on February 12 during a press conference. The meeting with representatives of the media was devoted to the most significant events of the event calendar of the Altai Territory.

According to Nikolay Chinyakov, the festival "Shukshin Days in the Altai" and the Robert Rozhdestvensky Literary Festival, holidays "Siberian Carnival", "Blooming of the Maralnik", "Altai winter" have gained great all-Russian popularity. To participate in these events in the Altai region come residents of many regions of Russia, including visitors from the central part of the country.


A large number of guests are expected on the holiday "Siberian Carnival". This year, the winter will be spent on February 17 in the tourist complex "Siberian Compound", for the guests will be organized a large number of different events, including an exhibition-sale of unique food products of the Altai Territory, equestrian competitions, traditional Russian folk games.


During the press conference, Nikolai Chinyakov also spoke about the most significant results of tourism development in 2017. In the Altai Territory the growth of the tourist flow was recorded again, according to the results of the year this figure exceeded 2 million people. During the year 10 new accommodation facilities for tourists were opened in the region - a total of 770 places. A lot of work was done to develop the event calendar, to form the regulatory and legal framework for the development of tourism in the region. In particular, the law on the introduction of a resort fee in the Altai Territory was adopted. Currently, the joint work with the administration of the city-resort of Belokurikha, which is chosen as a site for an experiment to pay a resort fee, continues. An action plan is being developed to develop the infrastructure using resort funds.


Another step in the development of legislation will be the adoption of a regional law on the development of tourism, the draft document will be considered at the next session of the Altai Regional Legislative Assembly.


Work continues with the owners and heads of tourist enterprises in connection with the forthcoming mandatory classification of tourism industry facilities.
