The interest in the Altai food products increased after using the sanctions
The federal trading networks and the executive authorities of Yakutia,
Moscow, St. Petersburg, as well as the Far East demonstrated higher interest in
the Altai food products after the ban of importation of certain types of
foreign products in the country. It is reported by the Regional Directorate of food manufacturing, processing and
pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology
Tatiana Zelenina, Head of the Altai Directorate of food manufacturing, processing and pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology:
“Colleagues from the regions requested the possible shipments of food with a long shelf life: cheese and butter, meat and sausages, cereal production. Our partners clearly understand that the Altai products are a real alternative to imported food products. The Altai manufacturers have real opportunities to increase the supply of products of grain processing, seed oils, dairy products. Negotiations are now in progress with companies and representatives of trade organizations.”
Since 2005, the Altai territory is steadily the first place in the country in the cheese production and it is five in the production of butter. Every third ton of milk powder, fourth ton of cereals, seventh ton of flour, ninth ton of macaroni in Russia is produced by enterprises of the Altai Territory.
It should be noted that about 30% of produced food products in the Altai Territory are used and 70% of them are exported.
